Tips:

 

• Complete your contractor profile as much as possible.
• ​On the process of completing your profile it would ask you to enter your hourly pay rate. Make sure your hourly pay is not too high and not too low. average for starters is 1.50 - 2.00 dollars per hour.
• If you are bidding for a job make sure you enter a hourly pay that is just average. For fix price jobs make sure that your bid is within the clients budget.
• I would advise to go for the hourly jobs instead of the fix-price jobs. Some clients requires a much higher oDesk hours for some jobs so you can use this acquired hours in the long term.
• Maximize your application quota. Starters get 20 maximum applications. ​
• Apply everyday and always check your email for possible interview or consideration.
